A Quasi-static Gun Model for the PSI FEL/LEG Project

The purpose of this page is to give i) a constant update of the current state of the affair and ii) all the information in order to build the gun model.

Simulation code used

We use the ImapctT code developed by Ji Qiang from LBNL.

Building the Gun Model

The gun model i.e. the ImpactT input file(s) are build using a script called createGun cfgfile . The input to the script is a configuration file defining some of the gun parameters. Some of data for the configuration file can be obtained by a Mathematica script (impactt-gun.nb). Please refer to the ImpactT manual describing the details of the parameters.

Results

On Merlin00 a dump of the distribution at z=1.5E-02 [m] can be found at:

The resulting dump can be used in a restart run.
