Course Overview

This is PAM-1, the first of two courses, introducing particle accelerators from a theoretical point of view and covers state-of-the-art modelling techniques. It emphasises the multidisciplinary aspect of the field, both in methodology (numerical and computational methods) and in regard to applications such as medical, industrial, material research and particle physics. The aim is to develope an understanding of the basic building blocks of particle accelerators in the linear regime. During parts of the exercises you will write - in Python - a particle accelerator simulation tool.

We would use Python in Jupyter notebook for part of the exercises.
